What will it cost?  The price to build a home is dependent on many factors, including cost of supplies, fuel, interest rates, and many others.  Some of these factors the owner is in the control of, like appliances, kitchen cabinets, flooring and lighting fixtures.  CMM has a great deal of experience building quality log homes and log post & beam homes, and can help guide you in the process of deciding where to save money and where not too.  Our "standard" home uses a stress skin-panel steel roof with an insulating value of R-40.  Our big logs further give you an increase value as it takes fewer logs to make your walls and the insulation value of the walls when completed is much greater than would be true if smaller logs were selected.   As a rough guideline, you can expect to pay around $200 per square foot, for those sections of the home utilizing pure log construction and somewhere around $80 per square foot for those sections of your home that utilize a basement area.  For homes utilizing log post & beam you can expect to pay around $185 per square foot.  These prices are for planning purposes only and do not include the cost of the land.  CMM is able to price any plans that you have to give you an accurate idea of what it will cost to build your home.
